卢炜教授1982年于北京中医学院中药系获医学学士学位，当年考取国家公派赴日留学，1985年与1988年于日本富山医科药科大学获得药学硕士与博士学位，博士论文的题目为利尿药piretanide在家兔体内的药物动力学/药效动力学链式模型研究。1988年归国后加入北京医科大学药学院药剂教研室，从事药物动力学方面的教学和科研，于1988,1990和1995年先后评为讲师，副教授和教授。1995年赴北美进行学术访问与工作，在美国的Emory大学，Guilford制药公司以及GloboMax咨询顾问公司等工作，在新药研发领域从事群体药物动力学，药物动力学/药效动力学链式模型方面的研究。2003年归国，现为药学院药剂学系教授，系主任，北京大学医学部学术委员会委员，医学部药学学科评议组和临床药学评议组成员，药学院学术委员会委员，北京大学治疗药物检测与临床毒理中心学术委员会副主任，北京大学第一医院伦理委员会委员，同时兼任中国药理学会数学药理专业委员会副主任委员和药学学报、中国药学杂志、中国药学英文版等多家杂志的编委。目前主讲本科与研究生班的药物动力学课程，主持自然科学基金，985-2期，973前期、国家新药创制重大专项等多项国家级课题，在辉瑞公司的支持下建立了北京大学/辉瑞定量药理学高级人才培训中心，与周田彦副教授和李良博士组成合作团队，共同指导二十名左右的博士和硕士研究生。
