1987年毕业于北京医科大学药学院后留校任教;1997年于日本星药科大学获药学博士学位。现任北京大学药学院教授、博士生导师,香港大学荣誉教授,中国药学会药剂专业委员会委员。
主持的基金项目包括北京大学药学院青年启动基金、留学回国人员启动基金、国家自然科学基金、国家自然科学基金专项、科技部863计划、北京市自然科学基金,教育部博士点基金等,是北京大学创新药物平台新制剂与新释药系统技术平台的骨干成员。担任国家火炬计划、国家重点新产品计划、国际科技合作重点项目计划,中小企业创新基金等评审专家。
获得的主要奖励包括Nagai Foundation;教育部科技进步奖(1995年 药物控释微球与磁性微球释放特性、靶向分布与化疗栓塞作用的研究,2000年 多肽及蛋白类药物新型给药系统的研究,2003年 新型纳米给药系统的研究,2009 抗肿瘤与肿瘤干细胞多药耐药性长循环载药脂质体给药系统的研究);北京市科技进步奖(2001年 载药脂质体的构筑、稳定性及靶向性的研究);中国中西医结合学会科学技术奖(2007年 柴苓汤系列治疗实验性肾炎及肝肾纤维化的作用机理研究);北京大学优秀共产党员(2010年)及药学院优秀共产党员(2009年);第四届北医大国际交流论文三等奖(1998年);北京医科大学教学优秀奖;中国药学会优秀论文二等奖(1999年);中国药剂学会优秀论文一等奖(2002年);药学学报优秀论文奖(2008年)等。
在国内外发表论文90篇,编写教材与专著14部,获得发明专利3项。教学课程包括本科生《药剂学》、《生物药剂学与药物动力学》以及研究生《药物输送系统》、《分子药剂学》等。
